About the Position
This is an exciting opportunity for an ambitious sales professional to play a vital role in driving and expanding Bittium’s business throughout the US. Bittium is growing rapidly, and the company has significant market opportunities across all product areas, particularly among US universities and research institutions, where your job will be to find new creative ways to attract new customers. As Sales Manager, you’ll initially be at the forefront of efforts to build relationships, manage sales, and oversee logistics for Bittium’s cardiac sensors with top US-based universities and research institutions. Your work will be crucial in achieving our sales targets and expanding our market presence. You will work closely with cross-functional teams that include R&D, product management, regulatory, quality, marketing, and operations. You are also expected to collaborate with the medical marketing team to craft messaging for Bittium’s various sales channels in the research and academic sectors. Your self-starter, goal-oriented, and creative mindset will be vital in identifying, pursuing, and capturing new business in this role. It’s a hybrid remote tole, ideally based in Dallas/Fort Worth, TX. You report directly to the General Manager of Bittium’s US medical business. 10-20% travel, including occasional international trips to Finland, is expected.
Responsibilities
- Drive growth by identifying, pursuing, and capturing sales to meet orexceed annual sales targets Explore opportunities to expand Bittium’s medical device products and solutions into the Canadian and South American markets once product knowledge is established
- Assist the General Manager with Key Accounts in the region as needed
- Collaborate with R&D, product management, regulatory, quality, marketing, and operations teams to support business growth
- Manage yearly business plan and sales budget and prepare monthly financial reports and forecasts
- Provide timely and accurate proposals to customers, including information on pricing, delivery, terms, and conditions of sales
- Track and record all customer and prospect interactions in the company’s CRM system
- Establish and maintain relationships with Key Opinion Leaders and other industry stakeholders
- Become an expert in Bittium’s products and solutions to communicate effectively and market products and benefits to prospective customers
- Keep informed on industry news and trends, products, services, competitors, relevant information about legacy, existing, and emerging technologies, and the latest product developments
- Maintain daily communication with U.S. and Finnish colleagues for technical/sales support
What We Expect from You
Your Work Experience & Education
- Bachelor’s degree in business administration, engineering, life sciences, or a related field
- Min. 2 years of experience in medical device sales with demonstrated success
- Experience with cardiac, neuro, or sleep products
- Experience selling into the academic/research sector is a significant plus
- Demonstrated ability to effectively navigate to and communicate with key decision-makers to close sales
- Experience negotiating and understanding complex contracts
- Comfortable with technology & proficient in MS Office 365 Suite and various business software
